The purpose of the Customer Support Agent position is to deliver excellent customer care and create sustainable value for customers via phone. The Customer Care Agents handle service and information requests, billing explanations, cost savings advice, and explain company policies and procedures along with terms and conditions.

Key Responsibilities of the Customer Support Agent:

  • Respond to various customers billing and service questions via phone
  • Enroll new customers in service. Process customer move-ins, adds, and transfers
  • Assist customers with account changes
  • Process order inquiry calls, initiate service orders, and provide service order status updates
  • Process payments for current or outstanding balances
  • Appropriately handle emergency calls regarding gas leakages, odor of gas, explosions, and fires

Experience Required:

  • 1+ years of customer service experience, ideally in a call center environment
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, while effectively focusing on priority issues
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Effective listening and communication skills and the ability to interact with external and/or internal customers in a professional, courteous and empathetic manner
  • Willingness to work in an environment that requires 100% phone-based customer interaction
  • Ability to multi-task and navigate between multiple computer systems quickly and accurately while maintaining a dialogue with customers and meeting performance expectations
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule
