Job Description: A Native American, service-disabled veteran-owned small business specializing in underwater, environmental and construction is seeking a Data Entry/Accounting Assistant to work directly with the Director of Finance.

Location: Merritt Island, FL

Number of Openings: 1

Starting Pay Rate: $14-15/HR DOE

Hours: Monday-Friday, 20 to 40 hours per week.

Type: This is a Contract to Hire Permanent Position.

Data Entry/Accounting Assistant Qualifications and Responsibilities

  • Supports the Accounts Payable function (e.g. check runs, review entries).
  • Reviews invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment.
  • Responds to vendor inquiries.
  • Maintains reports, spreadsheets and accounting files.
  • Researches and solves payment discrepancies.
  • Adjusts accounts as necessary.
  • Prepares bank deposits.
  • Completes bank reconciliation.
  • Follows up on aging accounts.
  • Prepares and maintains financial and business transactions.
  • Assists with reporting to support month-end accounting close entries; prepares various account reconciliations.
  • Develops and runs queries using QuickBooks and Excel.

Data Entry/Accounting Assistant Job Requirements

  • Associate Degree or higher in Accounting.
  • Three (3+) plus years accounting experience.
  • QuickBooks knowledge and experience required.
  • Excel knowledge and experience required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Data Entry skills and experience.
  • Ability to use scanners, computers and other software.
