Electrical Control Panel Assembler

Our customer is currently seeking an Electrical Assembly Technician must be knowledgeable about wiring diagrams/schematics and common electrical components, with experience in panel layout, assembly and wiring of industrial electrical control panels/boxes and troubleshooting. Work involves operating all test equipment in the test area, such as simulation patch panel, multi-meter, data acquisition systems, and personal computers. Interprets and summarizes their readings and relationship to the qualification standard and/or the print specific requirements and trouble shoot and diagnose problems as they arise. The Technician will have the ability to converse with engineering on electro-mechanical topics in the pursuit of solving problems. This position is capable of working independently and troubleshooting complex electrical functions.

Job Duties:

• Assembly and installation of electrical junction boxes and panels. • Mechanical assembly and installation of motors, limit switches and conduits. • Reads and analyzes mechanical construction prints. • Reads and analyzes electrical prints. • Understands proper wiring methods. • Perform quality control procedures. • Perform field work, installation, and/or start-up assistance with Manufacturing Manager or Control System Specialist, as required. • Troubleshoot various electrical and mechanical problems on equipment being assembled, or panels being serviced. • Has disposition authority on rejects and rework. • Basic knowledge of NEC and NFPA 70 code standards. • Basic knowledge of UL 508A standards • Proficient with: Hand tools (for electrical, mechanical work) and power tools including: drills, saws, compressors, and grinders. • Basic use of MS Windows will be required. • Other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, stoop, squat, reach to or below shoulder level, lift, carry, push, pull, and use hands to handle material. The employee is regularly required to lift/carry up to 35 pounds. The employee is frequently required to push/pull up to 100 pounds.

Requirements: • Two-year technical degree or equivalent work experience required. • Good record of job performance, safety, and attendance. • Must be able to pass required drug screen. • Must be able to pass a basic knowledge written and an application-wiring test. • Must have the minimum personal hand tools required for the performance of the position.
