Essential Functions of the position include:

  • Docketing, manage and maintaining calendars of all cases, including tracking of deadlines and due dates without supervision.

  • Advanced knowledge of State, Federal and Appellate court rules and procedures regarding deadlines and due dates.

  • Preparing, reviewing, editing and proofreading a variety of documents, including initial defense responses, motions, discovery, and correspondence.

  • Communicating with insurance claims specialists, clients, courthouse personnel, other law firms, and fact and expert witnesses.

  • Researching background of fact and expert witnesses, plaintiff and plaintiff s witnesses.


  • High school diploma.

  • 5+ years of defense litigation experience, experience is Texas is preferred.

  • Proficiency in Word and WordPerfect platforms, Adobe Acrobat Pro. Proficiency or knowledge of PracticeMaster/Tabs3 software and/or iManage document management software a plus.
