Job Title: Tool & Die Maintenance Mechanic/Machinist TEMP ASSIGNMENT-3 MONTHS
Summary Repairs and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Employee is responsible for all the mechanical equipment at WIKA, concerning both machines
and installation in the building.
Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
Examines form and texture of parts to detect imperfections.
Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
Repairs or replaces defective parts.
Installs special functional and structural parts in devices.
Lubricates and cleans parts.
Starts devices to test their performance.
Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.
Repairs electrical equipment.
Repair mechanical equipment as needed
Plumbing, carpentry, masonry, moving equipment, painting, pulling data lines, etc.
PM equipment – changing oil, belts, filters, clean equipment, etc.
Set up and operate a variety of machine
Fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools
Maintain industrial machines,
Apply knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout and machining procedures.
Aligns and secures holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines.
Selects the appropriate tools, machines, and materials to be used in preparation of machinery work.
Machines parts to specifications using machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, or grinders.
Sets up, adjusts, and operates all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced variation tools to perform precision machining operations.
Measures, examines, and test completed units to detects defects and ensures conformance to specifications
Sets controls to regulate machining, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
Maintains industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.

Education and/or Experience
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and five years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mechanical and minor electrical experience is required. Pneumatic and hydraulic experience is required. Good mechanical skills, Manufacturing experience preferred, especially if it was in a “lean” environment. Able to monitor performance and be able to make improvements or take corrective action.
