Our customer is currently seeking an Operations Manager to join their team on a long term direct hire basis with a tier one automotive supplier in Northwest Georgia. Automotive supplier experience with a complex assembly process is preferred.
The Operations Manager is directly responsible for the Operations of one or more production facilities. This position directly manages the production staff in the facility and is responsible to deliver the production and to meet the operational performance
targets set for each program and assembly line in the facility.
Responsible for effective and efficient execution of production to meet customer expectations
This position works with the General Manager to build annual operating budgets and long term plans that includes the necessary staffing to effectively operate the facility and accommodate facility growth and / or contraction
This position is expected to control costs in order to come in at or below the annual operating budget for the facility
Directly and indirectly manages and leads production related staff across multiple disciplines to ensure everyone is working with common interest, that everyone has the information needed to perform their function, that everyone is working to established standards & processes and that everyone is working in the best interest of the facility and the company
Responsible for product quality on all programs delivered out of the facility
Expected to take a proactive approach to facility management and operational performance to meet or exceed required metric targets
Use metrics, lessons learned and benchmarking to drive continuous improvement of practice, process and systems in the facility in line with IOS and quality processes
Properly escalate issues to the appropriate level in the business and secure the necessary resources to implement short and long term corrective actions
Advise and coordinate with advanced program teams to manage program launches to the expected result
Directly and indirectly responsible for the performance management and development of a cross functional production staff
Enforce company policies and external laws and regulations
Responsible for the health & safety practices and the well-being of all employees
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or Engineering is required.
- The position requires no less than 10 years of experience managing an assembly facility in an automotive business serving both domestic and international automotive OEM customers at a Sr.
leadership level. Client prefers automotive supplier background in a complex assembly process.
