Receiving Supervisor

Summary/Objective: Serve as a lead over the assigned area of Receiving. The lead will train and provide direction and guidance to assigned staff, while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Company’s policies and procedures.

Essential Functions

  • Make sure all receiving clerks fill out receiving log form for each truck.
  • Make sure every item is received, scanned and labeled by end of your shift.
  • Have your assign staff make room in the receiving area putting material up on daily basis from first and second.
  • Participate in the daily pass down meeting.
  • Investigate why items are not received into the system but signed for by receiving clerk.
  • Operate a Forklift.
  • Use of the ERP system to transfer item/ receive items/ print labels.
  • Maintain the weekly KPI report.
  • Work with freight Broker Company to maintain a full truckload schedule.
  • Have staff send daily updates about shortage material arriving to planning, procurement, and operation
  • Follow-up with customers (internal & external)
  • Physically label incoming goods
  • Manage Internal Data
  • Work with Accounting to resolve disputes with vendors and freight lines
  • Keep all paperwork organized
  • Scan in receiving paperwork as needed
  • Comply with all safety and SOP procedures
  • Able to work overtime including weekends
  • Assist with customer returns

Essential Functions Cognitive (Reasoning)

Apply principles of rational systems to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, visual, or schedule form.

Make arithmetic calculations involving fractions, decimals and percentages.

Essential Functions Communication (Speech & Composition)

Expression of a level to communicate verbally with clients/customers and others to obtain and provide basic information in English. Able to communicate by telephone. Capable of explaining routine policies and of properly referring more complex cases. Comprehension and expression of a level to record fairly uncomplicated information frequently such as filling in forms, logging entries and taking telephone messages.

Required Education, Skills and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required or equivalent work experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • Experience using ERP system
  • Experienced using MS Office and e-mail correspondence
  • Previous experience working in a receiving environment

Certification required

  • Forklift certified
