Position Summary: Provide administrative assistance and customer service to ensure goods are shipped on time

Essential Job Functions:

Lifting up to 10 lbs. 1 - 33% of the time.
Pushing / Pulling up to 12 lbs. 1-33% of the time.
Bending, Squatting / Kneeling, and Twisting / Turning 1-33% of the time.
Reaching above Shoulders and Reaching Outward 1-33% of the time.
Handling or Fingering items 1 - 33% of the time.
Standing and Walking 34-66% of the time, and Sitting 67 – 100% of the time.
Using the computer 67 – 100% of the time.
Prepare the paperwork for the shipping floor so items can be shipped in a timely manner.
Prepare the necessary paperwork for goods to be picked up by customers throughout the day.
Prepare the labels for the shipping orders
Interface with customers and/or clients as needed at the shipping window or on the phone or by e-mail to meet their needs.
Using a handheld scanner, walk the floor and complete a physical count of finished goods.
Set up the receiving schedule.

Position Qualification Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.
Training is provided during the probationary period by the Shipping Supervisor and Plant Manager.


Data Entry experience required.
Manufacturing experience preferred, but not required.
Shipping experience preferred, but not required.

Skills & Abilities:

Must be able to speak, read and understand English.
Must possess good organizational skills and attention to detail (have a high concern for accuracy).
Must have good customer service and phone skills.
Capability to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers.
Ability to follow instructions and company safety rules.
Must be able follow directives from the Supervisor and Plant Manager.
Must be able to pass the post offer physical and drug test.
Machines, Tools, Equipment & Work Aids (note: this list may not be all inclusive)
Works on a computer, scanner and printer daily. Occasionally uses a handheld scanner

Computer Skills

Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as e-mail. Training is provided on in-house programs used.
Physical/Visual Activities or Demands:

This position involves sitting at a desk to produce shipping materials and labels.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
Good visual skills are necessary as this employee must ensure printing of shipping paperwork and labels.
Hearing is essential for safety around machinery and forklifts.

Work Environment:

This position is in a manufacturing environment using chemicals. The environment can be dusty.
This position requires occasional movement around moving vehicles.
