Our client in Kennesaw is looking for a Skill Development Manager to manage a team of 5 in their expanding business. This candidate will report directly to the Director of Technical Support. This is a direct hire opportunity with the ability to obtain a company car for business travel as well as a company cell phone and company laptop.

The main focus of the position is to provide technical knowledge to service personnel and customers through learning and development programs.


Duties include:


*Responsible for Fiscal Year training in HDM. Work with 2nd level support Mechanical and Electrical Directors to trim list to fit AOP Training budget set by Service SVP. Submit final draft to HDM. Assign participants training dates set by factory for courses. Maintain all changes and track budgetary costs throughout FY to make sure budget is met and not exceeded. Compare to figures to HDM quarterly training reports.
*Managing the evaluation and development for service technician growth in both technical and professional skill sets for Pre-Press, Press and Post-Press by analyzing technical advancements, industry trends, current skill levels and developing needs assessments through; One-on-one interviews, Observations, Performance records and Questionnaires.
*Managing the Apprenticeship Training Program which includes: Hiring of Apprentices, Development of relationships with technical colleges for recruitment, manage budget and expenses, manage development of skills sets, manage instructors during training, revise and develop curriculums as needed, analyze regional needs of future technical service personnel.
*Approve Apprentice expenses, Approve timesheets, maintain whiteboard, track apprentices OT, travel and maintain work schedules.
*Managing customer training in NAPPTC for Pre-Press, Press and Post-Press. Keep track of costs, order supplies, evaluate customer surveys, supply curriculums for training, and communicate with RVP’s and RSM’s concerning costs. Work closely with Operations (IWO’s), 2nd level support for instructors, Sales Representatives and NAPPTC for scheduling of equipment.
*Managing the administration and evaluation of the Operator Evaluations. Design specific assessments based on the customers machine configuration, evaluate completed assessments and develop custom executive summaries based on results to discuss training curriculums with customer.
*Responsible for supplying training to HMX and HCD based on their requested needs.
*Managing training equipment and models.
*Managing the development and implementation of various projects as needed concerning business development, marketing, Technical schools advisory committees, representative of HUS and guest speaker for various PIAG, GACTE, etc. events and monitoring of several major press related forums.
*Responsible for the completion of OSHA Contractor Health and Safety Questionnaires supplied by customers. Self-instruction on understanding OSHA requirements and insurance case incident rates as well as BLM statistics for the printing industry in relation to accidents and injuries.
*Work closely with Human Resources. Administer online OSHA training to field service force yearly.
*Participate in the implementation of new service products by organizing training programs for product launches and maintenance of existing Service Products.
*Work with HDM focus groups when needed. Responsible for decision making of HUS with regards to learning and development programs.

Minimum Qualifications include:


Associates degree or vocational apprenticeship/Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
5-7yrs work related experience, 4-6yrs experience performing essential duties stated above.
Computer skill experience should include knowledge in Excel, PowerPoint, SAP, Word and Outlook .
Travel: up to 30%.
