Sr. Accountant

Job Description

Our customer is currently seeking a Sr. Accountant to join their team. A CPA is required and experience with Big 4 or a public accounting firm is required.

  • Prepare monthly entries related to hedge accounting for swaps (e.g. mark-to-market entries, accrued interests etc.). Analyze effectiveness and keep records of compliance with US GAAP and IFRS.

  • Prepare monthly financial statements for North America entities.

  • Prepare monthly journal entries for North America entities.

  • Reconcile balance sheet and expense accounts between SAP and Lemans.

  • Lead optimization projects/initiatives by providing strong leadership and leveraging subject matter expertise to identify opportunities areas and creative solutions.

  • Perform company s Interest Subvention calculation and its corresponding general ledger activities including journal entries and account reconciliations.

  • Research and analyze IFRS and US GAAP accounting standards, summarizing findings, and providing support for implementation.

  • Lead efforts to identify and implement process optimization projects.

  • Responsible for the month end consolidation and reporting of financial information to ensure accuracy, integrity, usability, and timeliness of various management reports and schedules for North America;

  • Prepare the monthly reporting package for parent company s Finance Departments.

  • Coordination of auditor requests regarding related bookkeeping.

  • Assist in the North America group consolidation and preparation of the North America related footnotes.

  • Train other team members (contractors, interns, etc.) when needed.

  • Back-up for other functions in the department to ensure proper coverage during absences and holidays.

  • Other ad hoc projects and duties as assigned.


  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting required or higher.

  • CPA is required.

  • Minimum 5 year General Leger Accounting experience in public or private accounting required.

  • Strong project management skills, particularly in implementing new accounting standards.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead the implementation of system or process optimization, including understanding organizational needs, ROI, etc.

  • Strong system knowledge with ability to leverage new technical tools.

  • Extensive personal computer skills in Microsoft Office products required (esp. MS Excel and PowerPoint).

  • Familiarity with Fiserv Lemans and SAP a plus.

  • Strong analytical and communication (verbal and written) skills required.

  • Experience in working /leading projects/initiatives.
