Supply Chain Manager - Auto Industry

Our customer a Tier 1 automotive supplier in Northwest Atlanta is currently seeking a Supply Chain Manager (SCM) to join their growing team. Candidate must have prior experience working within the automotive manufacturing industry.

The ideal candidate will manager and develop the teams for production planning & scheduling, the warehouse & material handling, customer service, managing engineering changes to plant products and transportation activities in the plants. This function is responsible for inventory tracking & accuracy, both physical and virtual in the ERP system, freight management and customer delivery performance for the facilities.

Job Duties:
Drives compliance to global and regional Supply Chain Management (SCM) and
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) procedures and processes
Responsible for local inventory management & accuracy – physical and virtual inventory in
the ERP system, consumption & inventory turn
Manages local freight and customs
Plans & executes physical inventory counts in coordination with operations, finance, regional
and global SCM
Responsible for local material flow and material handling for line feeding and warehouse /
shipping management
Responsible for managing and ensuring customer service, delivery satisfaction & customer
Delivers results to meet the local and regional SCM KPIs.
Works to implement cost savings initiatives in areas of responsibility (e.g., warehouse, freight
costs etc.)
Responsible to create and communicate production plans to
Releases & manages the production forecast to suppliers
Manages the engineering change process & tracks engineering changes for supplier parts
used in local production

Has extensive experience as member of a an assembly plant management team
Extensive experience in materials & production planning, transportation services, warehouse & material management, customer services and inventory control
Extensive lean experience (5s, VSM, visuals, Standard work, etc.)
Familiar with TS16949 and ISO 14001
Experience managing freight provider relationships and negotiations
Good working knowledge of the logistics market included all modes of transports (sea, air, and road – LCL/FCL, LTL and FTL).
Extensive experience in ERP and KPI management

Education and Required Experience:
No less than 10 years of experience in full scope Supply Chain Management in an automotive
or similarly demanding manufacturing / assembly / production environment. Must have no less
than 8 years of experience managing personnel in the SCM disciplines listed in this position
description. A bachelors’ degree in supply change management or other operations or
engineering degree with the equivalent level of experience is required. A master’s in business
administration or other supply chain related advanced degree is a plus.
