Position Summary: The Technical Services Manager is in charge of hiring, training, leading, monitoring, and developing the technical services staff. The technical services department works closely in a team based approach with other departments to provide technical expertise in identifying, sourcing, designing, pricing, implementing the use of, and maintaining essential equipment for current and future plant operations.

  • Manages upkeep, maintenance, and repair functions for the property.

  • Establishes the organization of machine and maintenance shop, assures the area is maintained to those parameters.

  • Reviews and approves all technical department purchase requisitions for equipment parts and service to make certain cost effectiveness is practiced at all times.

  • Develops, plans, and implements predictive maintenance to ensure reliable operational performance of company equipment and processes within targeted objectives.

  • Oversees the inspection schedule of equipment for operational standards-and ensures all preventative maintenance procedures are followed.

  • Approves and implements maintenance policies and procedures.

  • Oversees resolution of maintenance issues and recommends measures to improve operations and condition of equipment.

  • Directs the procurement of maintenance related materials, supplies, and services in required quantities for requested deliveries at the proper price.

  • Monitors and keeps current on equipment manufacturer's specifications, policies, and warranty programs.

  • Recommends the model and specifications of replacement equipment needs and location changes.

  • Ensures safety and security as required by company, local, State, and Federal jurisdictions.

  • Offers and evaluates suggestions for cost reduction opportunities regarding staffing, manufacturing process, equipment and supplies.

  • Monitor and review maintenance related vendor performance and provides information needed by Procurement for negotiation of annual contract for services.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

- Education: Bachelor's Degree or several years' of related experience.

- Mathematical Ability - calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, circumference and volume. Apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry,

- Computer Skills - must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

- License - Forklift certification is highly recommended
