JOB DESCRIPTION

BASIC PURPOSE:

Ensure smooth production operation during shift by staging, loading, and unloading finished products and raw materials. Stock and maintain cell inventory. Supervisor’s backup.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist supervisor in production line operation in accordance with plant policies and procedures.

  • Coordinate production startups, shutdowns, and changeovers.

  • Support cell operations to meet shift production goals.

  • Manage for Daily Improvements. (MDI)

  • Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and special instructions (SIs)

  • Communicate with shift Supervisors and Water-spiders.

  • Communicate with other support groups when necessary.

  • Ensure a clean and safe work environment. (5S)

  • Complete shift paper work. (SQDC)

  • Assist in production as necessary.

  • Ensure material availability at the workstations. (PTO, KB)

    JOB SPECIFICATIONS/PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery. This is normally acquired through two to five years of manufacturing experience.

  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.

  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds required.

  • The ability to stand for long periods up to eight or more hours at a time

  • Able to work in noisy environment.

  • Good eyesight (eyesight correction acceptable).

  • Be able to work overtime if required.(including weekends)

    Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots. (PPE)
